Start Changing Your Life
Why are you not doing what you want to do right now? No need to make excuses about it, it’s because you haven’t gotten off your ass and made a change. You might not know what you even have to do to start making these changes. The actual steps to take will be different depending on your goal. One thing is for sure, there’s always room for change and self improvement. If you really want to improve your quality of life, it’s time to make a change.
1.) Change your mindset. The only way you’re going to be able to make changes that actually stick is to start believing that you can change. We all know what’s good for us and what we want to see ourselves become, but very rarely do we believe that it’s all possible. You have to begin to think positively if you’re ever going to achieve any personal growth.
Start becoming a more positive person by becoming more aware of all of the thoughts you have in a day. Do this for 1 week and tell me how many of your thoughts are positive and how many are negative. If you’re noticing more negative thinking, you should start hunting for the more positive sides of every situation. The law of attraction states that you get back from the universe what you give to it. So let’s start being more positive to attract only the best results to our actions.
2.) Study, plan, and prepare for what you want. Make sure your goals are realistic and attainable as well. If you want to have that model body, you have to do your research on what to eat and how to get there. They say failing to plan is planning to fail. That’s more right than you would want it to be. It’s great to know what you want because a dream will motivate you to take action. If you don’t research, seriously plan, and prepare your mind for the journey you’ll make, then you will always just be an unsuccessful dreamer.
Take pride in the goals you’re setting for yourself and give them importance in your life. Look into what credentials you need to have to obtain the job you want or the skills you need to learn to master that hobby you want to make money from. Once you find the importance in your goals, you’ll be more likely to achieve them. I know that there’s an ideal life you see for yourself. Today is the day to get up and research what you need to do to be where you want to be. Stop dreaming and start executing.
3.) Now that you know what’s required of you, it’s time to schedule some time to make it happen. If you’re serious about making a change in your life, you’ll be willing to dedicate at least 1 hour a day to your goals. While you’re planning and preparing, log your entire week hour by hour to assess the productivity of your days. After doing this, I promise you that you’re going to notice that you have a lot more time to work with than you think you do.
Maybe you spend a bulk of your time sleeping or maybe you just lay around too much. After doing this, I strongly believe that you’ll have an eye opening moment that screams, “I need to change.” This will help you identify your problems with time management and help you properly plan your days to be productive and successful.
4.) Take action and start making small changes that lead to big changes. One of the 1st things I can suggest is that you start to wake up an hour earlier than normal. Taking that small action is a little leap over a giant hurdle towards your finish line in life. (Granted we should always seek to improve and push the finish line further and further.) Another thing you can do would be to start reading informational literature that will teach you the skills you need to succeed. It could be a motivational book like “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill or an informative book like “The Strength Training Anatomy Workout” by Frederic Delavier and Michael Gundill. Just taking the action to start your journey towards improving your life will motivate you to keep a forward momentum towards success.
If there’s 1 thing that my ex girlfriend taught me that really sticks with me, it’s that motivation follows action. You can’t just wake up in the morning and say “Today I’m motivated to be better.” If it were that easy, the whole world would be a Utopian society. You need to initiate your plans and feed off of the motivation created by your actions. Once you get that ball rolling, don’t stop. Before you realize it, you’ll start to see yourself changing in all the ways you’ve always wanted to.
5.) Create a support system of people that will hold you accountable for completing your goals. Whether it’s a group of close friends, a mentor/life coach, family member, or even coworkers you should have a network of people who are ready go push you to be better. If you tell them you’re going to do something, you should count on them to hold you accountable. If you don’t stick to your word you’re not only failing your peers, but you’re also failing yourself. You shouldn’t just talk about it, you should be about it. Creating this success network is going to ensure that your actions match your words.
Encourage them to challenge you by quoting you and even setting goals they expect from you as the person you present yourself as. You want to live up to the successful expectations you’ve set for yourself. You already have your 1st person for your support system… me. I believe in you and if you'd like to, I’m ready to chat with you and challenge you to be better than the person you were yesterday.
This is all a basis to facilitate change. In further posts I’ll be elaborating deeper into each topic individually to really help you take your development to the next level. We’re strong alone, but we’re unstoppable together. Let’s all link up and help each other create that change we want to see in our lives. If you plan on trying any of these tips that I’ve suggested for you, please comment below so that I can personally follow up and track your progress. Also feel free to share this post with anyone that you know who might need that motivational push to get up and start changing their life. Never stop believing in yourself and never stop changing.
